MATT SCHOFIELD & DUDLEY ROSS LIVE @ THE GULBENKIAN THEATRE, CANTERBURY Wednesday
21st April 2010
Britain’s
most talked about and exciting contemporary Blues guitarist.
Taking his
cue from the great American blues guitarists and mixing it with rock and funk
influences, Schofield has developed a distinctive style that has had the music
media here and in the USA singing his praises. The Los Angeles Daily News was
emphatic when saying “in Schofield, the UK has produced the best blues
guitarist from any country in decades.”
His powerful
mix of Blues and New Orleans funk is unlike anything else on the block.
Britain has
a long history of producing influential guitarists – Eric Clapton and Peter
Green to name just two. Schofield recently joined the list when Guitar &
Bass Magazine added him to their Top Ten Greatest British Bluesmen of All Time.
Support by The Mavericks Blues Band
The Mavericks Blues Band hosts a selection well known and respected
musicians on the British blues scene. Sam Kelly (drums), Paul Jobson (keyboards),
